About the Designer - Bio of Jade Kang
Jade Kang ventured to London in 2005, graduating from London College of Fashion in 2008 to critical acclaim. Upon graduating Jade worked for Giles at Giles Deacon Studios on his 2008/2009 collections. Head hunted by Melt London in 2009 Jade was asked to take on the entire Design Range for Melt London’s 2010/11 collections. Jades formidable skills also as a Pattern Cutter led to associated work with Alexander McQueen and Jonathan Saunders's collections.
Known in fashion circles for his wild ‘big’ hair masking a delicate ‘small’ ego this edgy designer transformed his inner rebel into an outer uptown label by unleashing his own design culture in 2008. Inspired by the heritage and strength of his imperial Korean family name, from this major player in the London Fashion scene, JADE KANG was born.
Jade Kang’s signature style is a skilled combination of tailoring.
He was selected by John Galliano as a Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden finalist for the SS11 season and his collection received notable acclaim from press and buyers.
